Hey guys! the software i am using is called Flexi-expert,it is a vinyl cutter software program. Not very cheep(around $2,400) but it works nice when you figure it out! there are multiple vector images in this medal that i took apart then layered back together. i can make most images vector in this program.Hope this helps.

to add to what Don just said

I spoke to him last night about the program he was using. After he breaks apart the Vector he imports it to 3DE and then creates the relief.

Awesome job!!

Here is how i made the shark

Post by DPB830 » Wed Jun 11, 2008 1:37 am

from my Lxi8 software i will convert image to outline.when i paste a solid image in 3de it gives me just the lines of the image, but if i convert to outline, than copy and paste into 3de it turns solid.Dont ask me why, i dont know, i just know it works that way.

Don

Looks like a great vector program.

3DE will take a line vector shape and make it a solid.

You can turn it back to a outline by going to Proporties and checking outline box. When the shape is an outline. Now you can select vertex points to sever, delete. move and connect .

English Vector program

Post by Winstone » Sat Aug 29, 2009 10:53 am

There is an English program http://www.scan2cad.com which allows you to take a scanned image or artwork, divide parts into vecotrs, then put them together again. The deluxe is about $150 for words and images. It is used in the OPil industry to make undersea vector maps of the sea bottom as well as figure depths of ocean images taken from satellites with cameras that shoot ocean pictures, then divide the different colours of water to create 3D maps of cean shelves for exploration. Just as Google earth does land, scan 2 cad will convert color images to vector CAD images for detailed maps of ocean areas for oil and gas. The program comes with a trial and if you buy it, then a release code is sent for ownership. Their instructions are easy to follow. Also one can scan land maps as well as topographicas maps for 3D vector images. ..winstone
