Not my first, but first I am to post

Post by ToddMichael » Tue May 18, 2010 3:25 pm

I am amazed at how much I have learned and again doing this job has proved to be yet another major learning curve for me.

Hint for another newbie to do this type of job,

1. Check finger size before finishing, so you don 't have to redo
2. Check your layout 6 million times
a. I actually milled the first one, with 2 rows the same and one larger
Don't ask how, I have no freaking clue!
3. And My new favorite, Make your prongs thinner. Actually had to hammer
some of the prongs over, as I made them too heavy.

None the less, I am amazed at what the mill can do, and it keeps getting better. I have shown some of my work to fellow bench people, and all have commented how clean, and consistent everything is.

Todd Michael out!

Yes, setting is much easlier, and I have done setting from drilling and raising, carving prong in wax, and both drove me nuts. Even steered away from those jobs, becaus of that. Not anymore, will take on all comers, well I think I will.

The learning curve was great for me, but the forum and all your help, has made it a totally viable and necessary tool.

It is becoming the best employee I have or ever had. I like the way wether right or wrong, I tell it do do what I want and it does it. Atleast I know they are my errors, and not a slack ass employees for not listening to my instructions.

Off the soap box, my employees will never read this, even thought I have let them know they would be more valuable if they could help in any aspect along the way.

Toodles from ToddMichael. :D

Good Job, Todd ring looks great.
I feel your pain on the learning curve, but it's getting easier. If you don't succeed carve it again and again.
I learn on every F---up.
