Some of McCay's stuff
Here's a few of my things that I've made using the mill. The diamond star pendant is the first item I milled. It's not perfect, but I thought it was pretty good for a first attempt. I apologize for the larger file sizes. I will post more later in a different topic so that I don't overload anyone with a phone modem.

- I used a customer's channel band for the stones and the gold to make this for his wife.

- A celtic design I did for a customer. I actually overlaid some pear shapes for the top. I hand cut the woven look for the top knot.

nice work
Nice!
any hints on the sides of the celtic knot?
I have to cover up some initials on the sides (deep hand engraved) of a heavy gent signet ring that we made years back and was going to try and mill eagles directly into the gold

Sides of the celtic ring
A couple of you asked about the sides of the ring. I milled the side knots as a shield type pattern and then laid them into the shank that I had carved. I haven't tried milling directly into gold yet. It seems like using Dr. Picza to scan the ring and get a contour would be the best way to modify the deep engraving. I've included a couple more pics. The cufflinks are a replica of the SC state flag. I scanned a brass pair with picza and then milled a wax directly from the scan. The other is a scroll band I made to replace a lost one.

- I milled this one as a straight bar and then bent and soldered after casting.
