Still Playing
I'm still playing with this new toy, this is just to much fun
for an ol guy
One is a face of a young man that left a few weeks ago in our area.
(work accident)
The other is a wax ring top for one of our local HD dealers, opening
a new store.
Thank all you guys for your help.

Looking good!
Hi Curt,
Looks to me like you've got this whole milling thing under control
Going by the lettering in the Harley Bar & Shield, you've also got that under control too!
Great looking pieces, Well done!!
regards Colin

Hey Curt
Yep is too much fun!! The face charm is great did you enhance the photo in any other program?
You had mentioned in one of your other post "Pick em to death guys. I need the input."
Unless it is the picture I think the shape of the shield need work.
You can do this by assembling shapes with the edit vertex points in 3dengrave.
Attached is an example of what you can do. You can refer to this post to help you understand.

Hope this helps. Keep up the good work

Shapes
Thanks Jeff,
That's exactly what I need, input.
First ?, about 30 min's in photoshop to get the face. Most of
the curving is in 3de shapes.
second ?. Yes I'm ashamed to say, it's in the drawing. A
quick hand drawn shield in a paint program.
The trick you sent is great, I had seen the post before but
thought it was more for ring shanks, duhhh, right in front
of my eyes. It will take a little for my ol mind to wrap around
it all, but I'm havin fun trying.

Hi Curt,
Remember that there's also a lot of extra stuff on the ftp site. ftp://3dwaxmill.com/
There's quite a few folders that that contain Symbols, that Members have kindly shared.
Here's one of the folders from "Colin extras".
You'll need to add this folder into 3D Engrave's "Symbol" folder.
Open "C" drive, then "Program Files", then "3D Engrave", then "Symbol" file.
Then just drag & drop (or cut & paste) the Shields folder in.
Note: If your XP computer is like mine, you wont find the "Symbol" folder within this location.
Here's the alternative location.
Under "Control Panel" click "Folder Options", select the "View" tab.
Under "Advanced settings" there's "Hidden files & folders" with two buttons, click "Show hidden files & folders", click Apply, OK.
Now open "C" drive, then "Documents & Settings", then "All Users", then "Application Data", then "Roland DG Corporation".
Within this folder you'll find all the Roland programs that you have installed. (remember this location if updating MP4 User files)
Open "3D Engrave", then "Symbol", now drop or paste the folder here.
Then go back to "Folder Options" & reset the option back to "Don't show hidden files & folders".
Sorry for the long winded explanation.
Hope this is of help, Colin

Thanks Colin,
Don't have XP, running NT. But the procedure is about the same.
I think I'm trying to cram to much info in a short time.
Some things don't hit me right away. But as soon as one of you
guys give a hint and I sit and study it I seem to understand.
Having a double hard time, coming from Unix to windows is a
challenge all in it's own.
Sorry I'm so dense sometimes, but I don't have but one active
brain cell still running, and it shorts out all the time.
Thanks again,
Curt
