Hi everyone my name is Richard

I am happy to say that I have finally moved into the computer design world. Thanks to Jeff, we now have a JWX-10. The machine arrived yesterday, I installed the software this morning and I hoping to continue with the set up tomorrow or Monday. Judging from all of the positive comments that I have read, I can tell this will be very valuable and I plan to invest some time reviewing in hopes of improving my learning curve. Any suggestions to help me avoid any newbie mistakes would be greatly appreciated.

Richard

Welcome aboard. I would suggest reading as many of the posts as you can, and don't be afraid to ask questions on the board. Good luck, and let us know how you like the JWX.

Richard,
glad to have you on board! From what I've seen and heard about the JWX-10, it's quite a machine! The forum and all the people here are great.
Be sure to check the "Highlights" page and please feel free to post in the gallery.
Regards,
Ken

Welcome Richard,
We are a motley crew of individuals. First, get a 3 ring notebook, and read as many posts as possible, keep a sketch book of your ideas, date them and sign your name. As time passes and your skills with the machine get better, these early notes will:
1 Act as a visual scale of improvement
2 Create a creative paper trail for future copyright claims
3 Force you to become organized like the rest of us
4 the mill any mill will start your subcontientious to work, and your wife
will become a mill widow. The effects are slow at first, but soon you will
be dreaming of new designs, making mill sounds in your sleep, taliking
about bits, and millimeters..... a great distraction during mass.
5 Lastly, after you have embraced the machine as one of your trusted
tools, you will become like the rest of us babbling old men and women
with an obsession with millings.... Welcome to our group madness.
