Welcome to the board, understand that there is no such thing as a dumb question. We all have them, some more than others. My father was a MD with a term, TDA. Well, I have cornered the market with TDA's over the years. Yet, that has not prevented me from participation. The more we ask, the more we learn. TDA= terminal dumb ass. It is an affliction that can get one killed, or almost killed. Winstone

None of the questions here rank even in the lowest form of TDA. How to start, find wax mill fine, set speed of cut, repeat patterns, etc. all are important and noteworthy. This is one place where we all benefit from eachother, the faster we can get you "up and going as a miller" the greater we get with your contributions.

Some things to note.
1] do the project that Jeff sent with CD
2] keep a notebook of progress, date pages, and projects with information
3] try out some of the projects of the guys in the 3de and note their settings.

4] If in doubt, speak out! Winstone

Welcome Ken

Winstone has the good advice. He is the wise old miller of the club.

As McCay said "Be sure to make the forum a regular stop."

The more you visit and participate the quicker you will realize the power of the 3dwaxmill.

Good luck and hope to see your work in the Gallery.
