simple mill job
just did draft with .07 bit about 15 minutes
Here is an example of milling over the top of the tube. Using various raises and cutting off I get a milled wax that only needs to have a small amount of altering, hollowing out the inside and building the shank level at the side of the channel. Was milled using Modela player. I will post file on forum soon.
I milled this on on the rotary. Milled the channel and the holes. I allowed for distortion and even put the indentations in the band to except the WG bars across. The diamonds were .20 ct each. If anyone would like the file just PM me and I'll be happy to send.
Simple design with odd size amy stone. Milled as one piece for amy and milled bail from the profile and tapered. Set with .03 ct rds at the top. The bail is made for a 6mm omega.
Zippo made to scale, as a locket. Milled in MP4 as seperate pieces.
This is the Prototype/Sample for customer, need to make 5 of them.
Each with an inner frame to hold photo & lock of hair.
Customers son was a collector of Zippo Lighters
Unusal & BIG natural, untreated Blue Topaz trillion cut, faceted base with cab' top - over 34cts.
Handmade the setting & milled a trillion shaped wax band to suit.
Heated setting & sunk into top of wax to aid in soldering together.
18ct YG/WG setting, just band = 17.5gms!

Nothing fancy here except I made this on the rotary. Steps and all. Allowed for some tweaking on the center area after it milled but otherwise stuck in the oven. Can't help what the customer wanted to use I am here but to serve and of course take their $. The stone 10 x 12. The gold "theirs" The finger size 10.
Finished sample ring in StgSil with oxidising.
finished crosses there was no rush job is due in june
Here's my first real rotary design & milling attempt!!
This is one of a set of masters for an "Australiana range" of rings for Tourists.
Background should have been cut through, I didn't surface cut enough. Easy enough to saw the thin sections after casting.
Cut this wax is for another Jeweller. (Trade work)
Thought of trying it out as a rotary design, but played safe & cut as 1/2 design, with MP4.
First wax with new computer, it works great!!
Customer wanted this Soccer Club logo as pendant.
Created in 3D Engrave, milled with Modela Player.
Cast in 9ctYG, texture on hair is with Diamond burr.

Very simple design done on the rotary. The thing that made this neat is that the texture was downloaded off the internet and converted to a bitmap and then added to the 3de file.
Here's a piece that I did using my rotary. The ring was designed in 3d engrave with only minimal altering after it was carved. The center bezel was milled seperate and added to the wax.
cross for 3mm princess cut
cathedral wedding set

designed the wedding bands with the prongs on the sides hand cut the channels for the princess cuts
designed the cathedral in halves with the channel in the center.
Anyone wanting the 3de files let me know.

WAX TO BE SET CHANNEL OUTSIDE/BEZEL IN MIDDLE
Milled the top mounting and part of the shank as a solid piece. I waxed the bottom part of the shank on and filed a bit. It will be much easier when I learn how to use MP4 more efficiently. The side stones are 2mm tanzanites. Possibly the first and last time I'll use tanzanites for that type of setting.
14k YG with WG bezel . All designed and milled with MDX. Only thing I did by hand was hollowed out the back and round over the different levels. Set the diamonds and It was done.
Last one for now...
Cast in 2 tone, set with .01's and briolette topaz. Hinged at stones and top.

yet another...I love my mill!
Another one cast in 2 tone set with .02's
Another piece for the new website
Cast this pendant in 14kt white as two pieces (middle mounting removed) to make it easier to cut the seats for the side stones.
This is my first real piece from the rotary. I design the piece without the bezel head in the center but did cut it out on the rotary. I made the head the old fashion way and waxed them together. Cast the top in 14k wg and the shank in yg. .50 ct center, .50 ct sides. Thanks Jeff great addition to the mill.
Used the mill to cut the blank ring and the head. I used the mill to leave an outline of the head in the blank. I cast in two tone and the pieces clicked together.
