Unusal & BIG natural, untreated Blue Topaz trillion cut, faceted base with cab' top - over 34cts.
Handmade the setting & milled a trillion shaped wax band to suit.
Heated setting & sunk into top of wax to aid in soldering together.
18ct YG/WG setting, just band = 17.5gms! |

Thanks Michael,
Took wife to Trade Show, to look at stones(1st Mistake!)
I said "buy a stone that you like & I'll design & make something?" (2nd Mistake!!)
The BTP is what she picked, I then had to come up with something to suit it?! Came out OK.

Did you use the rotary or the regular mill to make the shank? Nice ring and some really nice scroll work.

Hi Jeff & McCay,
Learned how to do this scroll work from an old Jeweller who's been doing this type of work for over 50yrs.
If I knew half of what he has forgotten, I'd be a lot smarter Jeweller!
I milled it with Modela Player, prior to getting the Rotary.
